The current version of the ISO 45001 standard is similar in structure to the 9001 and 14001 standards. Additionally, organisations must demonstrate that documented information is controlled, that risks and opportunities are considered and that actions to address these are identified and implemented. The 45001 standard emphasises a focus on assessing risk, particularly throughout the production and management of relevant documentation.
Meeting the requirements of this standard
The management system required to meet this standard will be dependent on the organisation and the operational activities that it undertakes. A register of all applicable health and safety legislation should be maintained with evidence of compliance. In addition, compliant organisations must complete risk assessments and must retain documented evidence in support of this. Furthermore, organisation must also produce documented evidence to produce and support their management review, internal audits and a health and safety policy.
