Which ISO service do you need?

Most businesses arrive at ISO consulting services in one of four situations. Finding yours is usually the quickest way to work out what you actually need to buy.

You have no management system and a customer is asking for a certificate

This is the most common starting point, and usually the most urgent: a tender, a framework application or a major client has made certification a condition. You need a system built from scratch and an audit booked. That is our full ISO consultancy service, which takes you from nothing to a certificate at a fixed price. For a business under fifty people with one site, that is typically eight to twelve weeks.

You have processes that work but nothing written down

Plenty of well-run businesses already do most of what a standard asks for and have simply never documented it. The work here is capture and evidence, not reinvention, and it is faster than starting cold. See system implementation.

You are already certified and it is becoming a burden

Certification is only worth holding if it survives surveillance. If internal audits are being skipped, the management review has not happened this year, or the last audit produced findings you never closed, you need ongoing system support rather than a rebuild. Often the answer is that the system is over-documented and can be cut down.

You want your own team to run it

The cheapest long-term outcome is a client who no longer needs a consultant. Internal auditor and awareness training is how you get there, and it is worth doing before your first surveillance visit rather than after.

Onsite, remote, or both

Every service on this page can be delivered remotely anywhere in the UK, onsite through our consultant network, or as a mix. Remote is faster to schedule and cheaper, and for documentation work it makes no practical difference. Onsite time earns its keep for the initial gap analysis, for shop-floor and site-based risk work, and for the certification audit itself.

How ISO consulting services are priced

We quote a fixed price for the consultancy, agreed before we start, with no long-term contract and no rolling retainer you have to give notice on. The price is driven by headcount, number of sites, how many standards you are going for, and how much of a system already exists.

Certification body fees are separate and are paid directly to the certification body, not to us. Any consultant who bundles the two together is obscuring what you are paying for. Ask for the two figures separately from anyone you speak to, including us.

Choosing the right certification body

We help you pick the certification body that actually fits, based on an objective review rather than habit. That means looking at whether accreditation is required by your customers or tenders, what the full three-year cycle costs, and how quickly a body can realistically get an assessor to you. Lead times vary far more than prices do, and the cheapest quote is not cheap if it cannot assess you before your deadline.
